Our Studio Story
Nestled in downtown Branford, CT, our studio is more than a place to learn; it's a haven of comfort, relaxation, and community. Our spacious 2300 square foot hardwood dance floor offers the perfect space to learn and refine your dance skills. Conveniently located along the Connecticut shoreline, we offer lessons in Social, American and International dance styles. Dances include Swing, Foxtrot, Tango, Mambo, Waltz, Latin, Night Club Style and many others. With a commitment to providing a high-quality learning experience, we've created an environment where students, some with us for decades, discover joy in every step. The Studio History
A Spotlight on Our Owner
Tania began dancing at the age of two. Ms Nunez danced with the Connecticut Ballet for fifteen years. Performing with the company ensemble and performing in many productions. Tania began her ballroom career at a Arthur Murray and trained to become a teacher. One year later she began to teach at Dance in Rhythm. Continuing to pursue her love of dance, she moved to D.C to dance with the American Dance Montage directed by ballroom legend Frank Regan. Tania has performed nationally as well as internationally. Ms Nunez is a member of the National Dance Council of America.Tania holds a an Associate as well as Licentiate degree from the I.S.T.D( Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing). Tania currently competes in the Professional American Smooth division.She has held the title Regional Pro Smooth Champion and RS Pro National and World FADS finalist. Tania is now the new owner of Dance in Rhythm dance studio.

Oleksandr started his dance career at the age of six. Oleksandr danced in a national folk ensemble in Donetsk region Ukraine. He performed in many festivals and competitions in countries such as: Turkey, Lebanon, Poland, Italy, U.K., Spain, Switzerland and Greece. At the age of fifteen he became the Ukrainian regional champion in ten dance.

Vlad is a 2015 & 2018 World Masters Professional Open Latin Finalist from Ukraine, who has been dancing since the age of 9. From that time, though the years, he has competed regionally, nationally and internationally in the juvenile, junior, youth, and amateur divisions and enjoyed many significant victories.
In 2009, he moved to the USA and turned Professional. Since then, he has risen up the ranks as as he went through different partnership, and became a "person of interest" with his last partner Annie He Xiao in the Pro Latin circuit.

- 2018 US National & Open to the World Pro Rising Star Latin Vice-Champion
- 2018 British Open Pro Rising Star Latin quarter-finalists (Blackpool, England)
- 2018 Top 40 Best couples in the Asian Tour (Tokyo, Japan, Seoul, Korea)
- Winners and finalist of many events in the USA that include in part:
USDC, Paragon Open, Ohio Star Ball, Tri-State, Emerald Ball, Yankee Classic, Nevada Ball, Miami Vibe, Yuletide Ball.

Olena has truly lived and breathed dance since the day she was born. Olena’s upbringing in a family of dancers has greatly shaped her passion and skill in the art form. Olena’s mother is a Office Adjudicator for Advanced levels of dance, and her father was a dancer. Growing up surrounded by the world of dance from a young age it is no surprise that Olena began dancing at the age of 5. It is also clear that her talent and dedication have been unwavering.
Her education in various styles of dance, such as ballet; jazz; International Latin and International Standard speaks to her professional commitment of mastering her craft. Olena’s journey as a professional dancer competing in various categories across Ukraine, Russia, and Europe highlights her success and talent in the dance world. Her experiences in the regional and the international competitions, performing in countries like South Korea, Dubai, and China for more than 6 years have undoubtedly broadened her perspective and enriched her skills as a dancer.
Olena made her way to the USA where her passion for dance continues to thrive. Olena within one month of starting with Fred Astaire won two first places in the Professional Division in Boston, Massachusetts. Olena’s achievements continue as she has successfully passed her first exam in American Style which is real testament to her unwavering dedication and skill. She continues to thrive in her work as a certified professional dance teacher, especially with wedding couples; students of all ages and abilities showcase her desire to share her love and knowledge of dance with others.
Olena’s story is not only one of passion and talent, but also of determination and perseverance. Her journey as a dancer exemplifies the profound impact that a family’s legacy and a deep-rooted passion can have on one’s life and career. Anastasia is a passionate ballroom dance instructor celebrated for her graceful style, expert technique, and warm, encouraging teaching approach. With years of experience in both Latin and Standard ballroom, she brings a deep love for partner dancing to every lesson she teaches.
Having competed in numerous national and international ballroom events, Anastasia combines professional precision with an infectious enthusiasm for dance. Her mission is to help each student build confidence on the dance floor and experience the pure joy of ballroom dancing.
Her teaching emphasizes strong fundamentals, musical connection, and the joy of movement. Whether you’re dancing for fun, preparing for your first showcase, or aiming for the podium, Anastasia fosters a supportive environment where every dancer can truly shine.

Igor has 27+ years of experience in ballroom dance. Igor believes anyone can dance with the right guidance and a little patience. His lessons are fun, personalized, and designed to help you feel confident and graceful.

Laurent Mullen has appeared extensively on stage, TV and film as a professional actor, dancer, choreographer and vocalist. His acting on TV began on One Life to Live and includes roles on 30 Rock, The Good Wife, Blacklist, Elementary, The Good Fight, Elsbeth, Severance, and in the films The Good Shepherd, Romance at Reindeer Lodge, Desolation Angels and currently as Charles in Eternity of Amelia.
At 17, Laurent first began dancing professionally with Connecticut Ballet Company. He studied jazz, modern, and hip-hop in CT, NYC, and LA. He later joined New England Ballet Company, where he danced more than 18 principal roles in 8 years and served as its Executive Director. Laurent is the owner of Ballroom Dancin Fools teaching Wedding couples, social and competitive students since 1998. Laurent appeared as the lead dancer in Evita at the Ivoryton Playhouse. He is a Pro/Am competing instructor in American Smooth & Latin, Swing, Hustle and Theater Arts. He co-founded Connecticut Ballroom Theatre, LLC and is a 2 time first place winner of “Dancing under the Stars-Clinton”.
